Girl Scouts Awarded Grant

Girl Scouts of Eastern South Carolina received a $1,228 grant from HOME Community Fund of Coastal Community Foundation of SC to purchase ten CPR training manikins and supplies for first aid/CPR training. To ensure the health and safety of the girls, first aid and CPR training is required every 2 years for at least one adult volunteer in every Girl Scout troop.  “The strength of the Girl Scout program rests in the voluntary leadership of adult volunteers and the quality of their training plays an integral role in their success,” says Loretta Graham, CEO.

HOME Community Fund was established as a demonstration of HOME Telecom’s sustained, long term commitment to the growing community it serves. Coastal Community Foundation of SC empowers individuals, families, and organizations to make lasting impact through permanent, endowed funds for charitable giving and serves eight counties in coastal South Carolina: Charleston, Beaufort, Berkeley, Colleton, Dorchester, Georgetown, Hampton, and Jasper.

New Website

Welcome to the NEW Girl Scouts of Eastern South Carolina website.

We have updated our look to better fit the image of Girl Scouts, get up to date with current web standards, as well as work on the back-end in order to speed up the website!

For those looking to register online, we now have a quick link to our online registration website, located at the very top of the screen. Simply click on the green Trefoil with "ebiz" to head directly there.

Volunteers can click on the "Volunteer Now" link on the left side to access the volunteer portals and information regarding how to become a volunteer.

Adults can now view a summary of things you can do as a volunteer, troop leader, and as a parent by clicking on the "Adult" menu button at the top of the page.

We are also looking at implementing the ability for you to register for events and programs online. We hope to bring this same functionality for camp in 2015. With these features, you can register to become a Girl Scout member, as well as pay for events and camp in one place!

Over the next few weeks to months, we will be rolling out more features in order to make your online experience even better than before!

BlueChoice Medicaid Partnership

Girl Scouts of Eastern SC is in a partnership with BlueChoice SC Medicaid to offer girls K5-5th grade free membership. In order for a girl to be eligible for free membership into the Girl Scouts of Eastern SC, she must be enrolled specifically in BlueChoice SC Medicaid. Loretta Graham, CEO of Girl Scouts of Eastern SC says, "I want for every girl in SC who wants to be a Girl Scout to be able to BE a Girl Scout." BlueChoice SC Medicaid hopes to bring the Girl Scout experience as well as education and information about healthy lifestyles and choices to the public.
