Camp Low Country
Camp Low Country is a non-profit camp and is operated by Girl Scouts of Eastern South Carolina. The council's Board of Directors set the camp fees after careful consideration of the rate of inflation as well as costs and fees at similar camps in the Southeast. Proceeds from the annual Girl Scout Cookie Program help maintain the property and subsidize the total cost of camp operations.
Camp Low Country is for all girls entering 1st - 12th grades. Acceptance into and participation in Camp Low Country are the same for everyone without regard to race, religion, socioeconomic background, or ethnic origin. A girl does not have to already be a Girl Scout to attend Camp Low Country. A $12 registration fee will be added to camp fee to cover the individual membership fee.
Camp Low Country has a capacity of just over 100 girls per session, and the camp is abuzz with activity throughout the day. Activities include archery, arts and crafts, environmental activities, outdoor living skills, team building, horseback riding, and swimming. Activity facilities include an arts and crafts building, pottery shed, challenge course with high and low elements including a climbing wall, a junior-Olympic size pool, an archery range, sports field, an air conditioned dining hall, as well as horses, pastures, and a barn. Housing facilities include two platform tent units, a cabin unit, and three cottages.
The Girl Scout Program Standards (as stated in Safety-Wise) and the health regulations of the State of South Carolina and American Camp Association Standards are followed at Camp Low Country. Camp Low Country is an American Camp Association accredited camp. All of the staff and volunteers who work with your camper are carefully selected. They all undergo background checks and a comprehensive training program to ensure that your camper will have a safe experience full of wonderful memories.
