HONORING WOMEN WHO MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Girl Scouts of Eastern South Carolina honors women from our nine southern counties who make a difference in their local communities at the annual Women of Distinction event. The Women of Distinction Award is presented in recognition of those women who have demonstrated significant achievement in their fields of endeavor, made contributions affecting their local and/or broad communities and acted as positive role models for today’s young women, who will one day follow them.
LUTZ TO HOST 2008 WOMEN OF DISTINCTION
Amy Lutz, morning news anchor at Live 5 News in Charleston will host the 2008 Women of Distinction event. This will be Ms. Lutz’s second year as emcee for the event.
“We’re so pleased to have Amy return as emcee for this year’s event,” said Jane Locke, Women of Distinction Committee Chair. “The support that she and WCSC-TV have shown for Girl Scouts means a great deal to the thousands of girls and adults we serve across eastern South Carolina.” Rita Scott, General Manager for WCSC-TV, is a 2004 Women of Distinction Honoree. Ms. Lutz is a Girl Scout alumna.
