University of South Carolina's Theta Tau chapter presents, Fall Into Science Festival, a STEM outreach program. Activities include the annual Pumpkin' Chunkin' trebuchet competition, interactive engineering tables from every discipline, games, face painting, and more! All ages are welcome and families are encouraged to attend.

This festival is a STEM program aimed at educating children and young adults on various STEM-related topics. Activities that children, young adults, and their families may watch or participate in include the Pumkin’ Chunkin’ trebuchet competition, games and simulations from every engineering discipline, and other fall-themed pastimes such as bobbing for apples, face painting, and a costume contest.

Additionally, you may want to consider entering our Pumpkin’ Chunkin’ trebuchet competition. This is an annual event where students can demonstrate their engineering knowledge by building a trebuchet that catapults pumpkins across a field. The machines will be judges by their range and precision, and the top two participants will be awarded monetary prizes!

This event is scheduled for November 10th from 10:30 am – 2:30 pm at the University of South Carolina, and can be tailored to meet your needs. We work individually with each organization to provide them the most fulfilling experience at our outreach events. For example, we can accomadate for clubs coming as a field trip, or individual families coming as an afternoon activity.
