In order for new troop leaders and/or assistant leaders to be activated in the system the following must be completed and/or received: background check, volunteer application and Introduction to Girl Scouts. Once you have completed the online background check process it takes a few days for GSESC to receive the results. Please allow at least 7 business days to be activated as a 01 or 02. Once you are activated you will be able to access your troop’s information.
If you are a Girl Scout lifetime member with a defined position, i.e. troop leader, assistant leader, service team member, trainer, etc… you need to update your position code every year. The default setting is 14 and if you do not update prior to October 1 each year, you will automatically be defaulted back to position code 14.
Returning leaders and/or assistant leaders need to allow 7 business days to be activated in the system. If you plan to register your troop online you need to enter your information by September 19, 2014 and register your troop by September 30.
